SEE ART ALL MONTH DURING BUSINESS HOURS AND ART WALK ON DECEMBER 18TH 5-8PM

Stacy Honda is a fine art photographer who uses digital photography and Photoshop to create surreal, dreamlike images. She was born and raised in the Seattle area of Washington State. She started taking classes at a local photography school in 2014, and as she learned about light and portraiture, her passion for creating began to grow. She began with a focus on portrait photography and then soon turned the camera on herself to experiment with self-portraiture. She worked as a model for many years so it felt natural for her to use herself as the characters in her images. Wanting to take her images beyond the boundaries of reality, she learned how to composite and manipulate images in Photoshop. She loves all different kinds of photography, but to be able to create from her imagination is what really excites her. Her images usually begin with a feeling that she turns into a visual. Creating is her way of processing emotions, past experiences and desires.

Her work explores the mediums of watercolor, drawing and paper cutting- sometimes individually and often combined.

Hawaii Reflections- the series of artwork displayed has been fueled by inspiration from a trip to Hawaii last Christmas. Some places stay with you and continue to inspire long past the time when you are there- that was especially the case with this trip to the Big Island and Oahu. This collection of work consists of paper cuts, watercolors and weavings inspired by photos and sketches from the trip. Colors and patterns in the works are inspired by the architecture and nature of Hawaii, along with the traditional Hawaiian Lau Hala weaving padan grasses.

During the Third Thursday Art Walk, Bar Americano presents “Singer Songwriter Sessions,” an open mic night hosted by local acoustic duo Soulcem. Join us for an evening of live music featuring artists from Edmonds and beyond, performing both original songs and favorite covers. This community-centered event celebrates local creativity and connection. Photos and videos will be captured throughout the evening and shared with participating musicians. Artists are encouraged to bring their instruments and share their sound (PA system provided). Patrons are invited to enjoy an intimate evening of live performance, great drinks, and local talent at Bar Americano.

120 5th Ave S, open Monday - Thursday 8am-5pm
SEE ART DURING THIRD THURSDAY ART WALK ON DECEMBER 18TH 5-8PM ONLY

Elisabeth McKinley is a painter inspired by the natural world that we live in and is all around us. Her style has been described as “simplified surrealism” and her work is characterized by vivid color and imagery that is just a little out of the ordinary from what you might expect. As an artist, Elisabeth believes that creating by hand keeps us more in touch with our humanity, and taking care of nature is a duty in our shared human nature, if we are so courageous to be stewards of this planet we all share.

With a degree in Global Sustainability from Central Washington University, Elisabeth’s lifelong love for art has also been reignited by moving to Edmonds in 2018 and being inspired to create by painting and immersing in visual art again. This series offers a playful and freer version of her work, where color creates movement and texture on the canvas, and gives a view through the lens of perceived imperfections to see how everything in the natural world seems to be perfectly designed.

Shari works with a crockpot of encaustic medium, a griddle with pots of encaustic paint and a propane torch, which acts as her paint brush. Encaustic paintings are archival and can be lightly buffed to maintain their high gloss finish. Shari also combines encaustics with alcohol ink, creating vibrant colors and with shellac, resulting in a unique webbing pattern.

You are invited to create your very own encaustic ornament during the Third Thursday Art Walk for $20! Shari will provide all the necessary equipment and infrastructure.

His main influences are Henri Cartier-Bresson, Robert Frank, Mary Ellen Mark, and many more. He loves having a reason to be outside in the fresh air amongst the people every day, getting his steps in physically and creatively. He is currently working on a long term photo project on thrift stores. If you see him wandering in Seattle or Edmonds with his camera, say hi!

Reed Sanders is a photographer and visual artist who plans to attend Western Washington University's arts program. Inspired by the dramatic landscapes of the Pacific Northwest, he gravitates towards the defining traits of this region: clouds, rain and darkness. His goal is to convey the emotions of uneasy loneliness and solitude that the Pacific Northwest landscapes create and to communicate the beauty of the places that are easily dismissed as cold and inhospitable. He believes that there is no medium better than film for capturing the emotions of a landscape because on film greys shift to cool blues, and the grain of analog media and vintage glass enhance the natural texture and drama of these spaces. Reed hopes to become an art educator to teach photography and art.

Myles Nyquist starts with the letter M. He is 4 years old and likes airplanes, horses and excavators. He likes taking pictures. He also likes buckets and excavator buckets.

Growing up in the Lynnwood/Edmonds area, Meg Valliant found photography in high school, which lead her to a career in the motion picture industry. She takes pictures for fun; a constant source of learning and creativity. She is also a regular volunteer photographer at sporting and community events. When she is not behind the camera you can find her riding bikes, coaching sports, and spending time with her family.
